Time for Tea Towels | DIY

Hey Kindred Spirits!

Happy Monday to you all! I hope you all had wonderful and relaxing weekends!
I don’t know about any of you, but I feel like I need a weekend after my weekend. Anyone else there with me?

One way I like to get out of the Monday blues is to find fun and creative things to do. After I am done working, I find it relaxing to work on some sort of creative project. (At least one that doesn’t require a whole lot of thinking!)
So, luck for you we have put together a simple DIY project that can be done whenever. You can put as much into it as you want to.

And, who doesn’t love a cute tea towel? Whether you make it for your own kitchen, or as a gift, these are so much fun to make!

Supplies:
038-202
Plain Tea Towels (However many you want to make!)
Wooden craft cubes
Your Favorite Color Paints
Foam Sheet with sticky back – (You really only need one if you can find a single sheet at a craft store)
Painter’s Tape/masking tape (optional)

Once you have your supplies, it is time to brainstorm what pattern you would like your tea towel to have.
I decided to go with a “+” pattern on this one. You then cut that shape out of the foam sheet, and stick it to one of the sides of the cube.  Dip it in the paint (or brush it onto the stamp) and go to work! (Pro tip: the extra cubes can act as spacers, so you get the perfect placed pattern!)

I also decided to do a striped pattern that I aligned with painter’s tape. I LOVE how this one turned out!

Once you are finished painting, simply hang them up to dry. After they are dry give ’em a good wash and then they are good to go!

How cute are these as a pair?!?

The colors and pattern options are endless!

Have fun creating! And be sure to share your photos on instagram with the hashtag #kindredcreativity for a chance to be featured on our profile!
We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
